Selling Turkish-made products on US marketplaces and wholesale

A Turkish seller can reach US buyers through Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, and TikTok Shop and Faire. Crossell keeps one catalog, moves products through a preview and approval step with a price rule per channel, and reads US orders next to Turkish ones. Shipping, customs, taxes, returns and account approval stay with you.

Who this is for

You make or source products in Türkiye (textiles, ceramics, leather goods, jewelry, food and similar categories are common) and you want US buyers: retail shoppers through an online store or marketplace, or independent retailers through a wholesale platform. You probably already sell on Turkish marketplaces. The question is how to reuse that catalog without retyping it for every channel.

The three routes to US buyers

  • Marketplaces, where the platform brings the shoppers and sets the rules. eBay is the marketplace Crossell connects for US shoppers today.
  • Your own store on Shopify or WooCommerce, where you bring the traffic and keep the customer relationship.
  • Wholesale, where retailers buy in bulk. Faire is the wholesale marketplace Crossell connects (beta).

Channels Crossell connects for a US audience today: Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, and TikTok Shop, plus Faire. The list and each channel's stage come from the marketplaces page.

Faire (beta) is a wholesale marketplace for US brands: Crossell connects US brands with their own Faire API key, and prices are in US dollars. Buyers are retailers, so the price is a wholesale price; the retail price is entered separately and cannot be lower than wholesale.

The Faire publish screen under Transfer shows each product the way retailers will see it: an English title, wholesale and retail price, category, minimum order and case size. Nothing is sent until you press send. When you send, Faire publishes the product if it meets its requirements; otherwise it keeps the product as a draft and says why. Crossell shows those reasons, so you can see what to fix, fix it on Faire, or delete the draft, change the product and send it again.

What Crossell does for a Turkish seller

  • Keeps one catalog behind your Turkish marketplace accounts and your US channels, so a product has one set of facts: title, barcode, materials, cost, photos.
  • Moves products between channels through a preview and approval step, with a price rule per target channel: markup, fixed amount, rounding and a currency step using your own rate or the latest TCMB rate as an estimate.
  • Reads orders from Shopify and eBay so US orders sit in the same workspace as Turkish ones. Each currency stays in its own total.
  • Shows margin per order, with estimates labelled. On US channels fee and margin figures are estimates, not reconciled profit.

Creating listings from Crossell is open on WooCommerce and TikTok Shop today. On the other US channels you create the listing on the channel and Crossell reads it back.

A preparation checklist before the first US listing

  1. Barcodes: use GS1 EAN-13 codes. Turkish codes starting 868 or 869 are valid abroad. Avoid codes starting with 2, which are reserved for in-store use.
  2. English titles and descriptions written for a US reader, with materials, dimensions and care instructions. Convert measurements (centimeters to inches) and check sizes against the channel's size chart: Crossell does not convert sizes automatically; you enter your size chart.
  3. Country of origin and fabric composition in the catalog. They are listing fields on many channels and customs fields at the border.
  4. Photos that meet the channel's rules, on a plain background where required.
  5. A price built from landed cost: product, packaging, shipping, duties and taxes, channel fees and returns, not only the Turkish ex-works price.

What remains your job

  • Shipping and delivery promises: carrier, tracking and transit times to the US.
  • Customs and taxes: duty, import documents and the tax rules that apply to you and your buyer. These change; verify current rules with your carrier, a customs broker or your accountant.
  • Returns: whether US buyers return to a US address or to Türkiye, and who pays.
  • Account approval: eBay seller verification and Faire brand review are decided by the channel, not by Crossell.
  • Product compliance in the US for your category, for example textile labelling or children's product rules.

A sensible way to start

Pick ten products you know well, enter costs, set one price rule for one target channel, and run them through the preview. The preview shows what is missing before anything is public. Expand only after you have seen your landed cost and margin on real orders.

Questions and answers

Can I sell Turkish-made products to US buyers with Crossell?

Crossell connects Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, and TikTok Shop and Faire and keeps your catalog in one place. It does not handle shipping, customs, taxes or returns, and it cannot get your account approved.

Does Crossell connect to Faire?

Yes, as a beta channel for wholesale brands. Faire reviews and approves brands itself.

Do Turkish barcodes work in the US?

GS1 EAN-13 codes that start with 868 or 869 are valid internationally. Codes starting with 2 are meant for in-store use and should not be used for marketplace listings.

How is the US price decided?

From your own rule per channel: markup, fixed amount, rounding and a currency step. Crossell shows the breakdown and you approve the final price.
