Marketplace listing operations glossary
Plain definitions of the terms multichannel sellers meet: managed listings, catalog SKUs, channel accounts, source stores, mappings and variants.
Last updated:
Active managed listing
- A live listing on a marketplace that Crossell keeps under management — it can be updated, republished, and health-checked from your catalog. This is the primary unit every paid plan is sized by, not orders or GMV.
Catalog SKU
- One distinct product record in your Crossell catalog. A SKU can back several marketplace listings at once, so your SKU count is usually lower than your listing count.
Source store
- A storefront or system you import product data from, such as a Shopify store. Plans include a set number, and additional source stores are billed per store.
Channel account
- One seller account on one marketplace. Two Trendyol seller accounts are two channel accounts, and the same catalog can publish to several of them.
Listing operation
- A single managed action against a marketplace listing — a create, an update, or a republish. Plans include a weekly allowance of these operations.
Channel mapping
- The rules that translate one catalog product into a specific marketplace's required fields, categories, and attributes. Each marketplace needs its own mapping because no two accept the same shape of data.
PIM
- Product Information Management: keeping one structured, authoritative record per product and publishing from it, instead of maintaining separate copies per sales channel.
Variant
- A specific purchasable version of a product, such as one size or colour. Marketplaces model variants differently, which is one of the most common reasons a listing is rejected on import.
Listing health
- A check on whether a listing meets a marketplace's requirements before it is published — missing fields, invalid categories, or duplicate identifiers surface here rather than as a rejection.
