The idea: one catalog, two sides of the bridge
A Turkish brand usually starts in the domestic marketplaces: Trendyol, Pazarama, Çiçeksepeti, N11, and PttAVM. The catalog it builds there, with photos, barcodes, sizes and costs, is the hardest part of going abroad, and it is usually trapped in marketplace-specific formats. Crossell's job on this bridge is narrow: it keeps one catalog behind your Turkish accounts, and moves a copy toward the channels you pick abroad, with the price and the currency under your control.
Abroad, the channels Crossell connects today are Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, and TikTok Shop. Faire (beta) is the wholesale route. Each is listed with its stage on the marketplaces page. Crossell does not get you accepted anywhere: marketplace seller approval, brand review and account verification are the marketplace's decisions.
Channels on the other side
| Channel | Stage | What Crossell does there |
|---|---|---|
| eBay | Beta | Scheduled order sync, Catalog import |
| TikTok Shop | Beta | Catalog import, Listing publishing |
| Shopify | Live | Scheduled order sync, Catalog import |
| WooCommerce | Beta | Catalog import, Listing publishing, Price and stock updates, Orders on request |
Creating listings from Crossell is open on WooCommerce and TikTok Shop today. On the other channels Crossell connects, it reads your catalog and orders, and you create the listing on the channel itself until publishing opens there.
Faire (beta) is a wholesale marketplace for US brands: Crossell connects US brands with their own Faire API key, and prices are in US dollars. Buyers are retailers, so the price is a wholesale price; the retail price is entered separately and cannot be lower than wholesale.
The Faire publish screen under Transfer shows each product the way retailers will see it: an English title, wholesale and retail price, category, minimum order and case size. Nothing is sent until you press send. When you send, Faire publishes the product if it meets its requirements; otherwise it keeps the product as a draft and says why. Crossell shows those reasons, so you can see what to fix, fix it on Faire, or delete the draft, change the product and send it again.
How a listing moves: preview, approval, send
Transfer is the workflow that moves products between channels. It is deliberately slow in one place, the review:
- Pick products from a connected account, or from your Crossell catalog, and choose the target account.
- Crossell builds a draft in the target channel's format and shows what is missing or mapped differently: category, required attributes, images, barcode.
- You review the draft, including the proposed price.
- Someone with approval rights approves the exact draft. What is sent is what was approved, not a recalculation.
Price and currency: set the rule per channel
A Turkish lira price copied to a dollar channel is wrong in both directions. Crossell lets you save a price rule per target account:
- A markup in percent on top of the source price, and an optional fixed amount in the target currency.
- Rounding that always rounds up: no rounding, to .99, to .90, or to a whole unit.
- A currency step for when the target sells in another currency: no conversion, your own fixed rate, or the latest TCMB rate. The TCMB rate is shown as an estimate with its date and is never stored as a price.
The result is a proposal. You see the breakdown, and the approver approves that final number. When your cost is known in the target currency and the proposal would fall below it, Crossell refuses the proposal instead of passing it on.
For wholesale on Faire, a rule can also set a retail price as wholesale plus a percentage; the retail price is never proposed below wholesale.
Data that has to be right before you cross
- Barcodes. Turkish GS1 EAN-13 codes (they start with 868 or 869) are valid beyond Türkiye. Codes you printed yourself for in-store use start with 2, and marketplaces match listings by barcode, so Crossell asks you to confirm them before a listing is created.
- Sizes. Crossell does not convert sizes automatically; you enter your size chart. Sizes travel as the values in your catalog, and a Turkish size label can mean something else to a US or EU buyer, so check them in the preview against the target channel's size chart.
- Language. Titles and descriptions need to be written for the target market. Crossell can draft descriptions with AI, and a claim filter removes statements your product facts do not support, but you review the text.
- Origin and materials. Country of origin and fabric composition are listing requirements on many channels and customs requirements at the border. Keep them in the catalog.
What stays with you
Crossell moves catalog data and reads orders. The physical and legal side of selling abroad remains yours:
- Shipping: carrier choice, cross-border labels, delivery times and who pays.
- Customs and taxes: duties, import VAT or sales tax, commercial invoices and tariff codes. Rules and thresholds change, so check them with your carrier, a customs broker or your accountant (mali müşavir).
- Returns: where returned goods go, who pays the return and how the channel's policy applies.
- Compliance: labelling and safety rules for your product category in the destination country.
Count profit in the currency you earn it
Crossell never adds amounts across currencies. A dollar order stays a dollar order, and fee and margin figures on US channels are estimates, not reconciled profit. When you set a price rule, set it with the full landed cost in mind, not only the product cost.
